This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 9

3:36 a.m.: Anthony Michael Bray, 49, of the 400 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop in the area of 11th Street and Osage Avenue for expired plates. Bray was arrested for driving without a valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, and expired vehicle registration. He was processed and released.

4:05 a.m.: Rafael Esquivel Martinez, 25, of the 2400 block of West Main Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near South Limit Avenue and West 16th Street. The driver had a suspended driver's license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail for driving with a suspended driver's license and a failure-to-appear warrant.

4:19 p.m.: Inez Q. Dugan, 44, of the 6500 block of McVey Road, was arrested after an officer responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft in progress. The subject admitted concealing multiple items totaling $63.91. Dugan was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Due to prior convictions, felony stealing charges are being requested.

Incidents

Nov. 8

10:02 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to property damage. A tenant at the business caused approximately $1,500 in damage to the room and reportedly was not willing to cover the cost. The suspect fled prior to officers being able to make contact and has not been located. 

1:08 p.m.: Officers took a report of theft from a vehicle that occurred near the 1200 block of West Sixth Street. Approximately $320 worth of items were taken from the vehicle. No suspects have been identified. 

6:32 p.m.: A report was taken in the police department lobby from a subject who was defrauded of $250 on a return of a deposit she made to a local business. A suspect known to her was identified.

10:07 p.m.: Officers took an assault report in the police department lobby from a caller stating she was assaulted near East Sixth Street and South Washington Avenue around 7 p.m. Information was collected and a report was taken. 

Nov. 9

6:29 a.m.: An officer responded to the 2400 block of East 10th Street for a property damage report. The caller stated all four tires had been damaged overnight. The estimated damage is $432. A suspect has not been located.

1 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 4300 block of Wisconsin Avenue for a report of theft. The complainant stated a subject entered the store and put three bags of Royal Canin dog food on a cart and left without paying. The value of the dog food is $118.97.

5:25 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East Boonville Street in reference to a theft that occurred earlier. A cell phone was taken out of a backpack during school hours and the principal believes he has the theft on video.

11:22 a.m.: Deputies took a report of a stolen firearm from the 2700 block of Rosebud Circle.

11:37 a.m.: Deputies took a report of a stolen firearm from the 3300 block of Cedar Springs Street.
