This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 11

9:11 a.m.: Delana A. Rich, 37, of the 100 block of East Saline Street, was issued a summons after being observed driving over the speed limit in a school zone on East 16th Street. She was stopped and it was discovered her license was suspended. She was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license.

10:08 a.m.: Christopher Joseph Hart, 33, of the 200 block of East Second Street, was arrested after officers responded in reference to a possible disturbance with weapons. It was determined that an intoxicated subject began making threats with a firearm to workers who had arrived to do work on his apartment. This led to a physical altercation where injuries were sustained by both the suspect and one of the victims. The firearm was not used in the physical altercation. Hart was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center and ultimately the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of harassment to frighten or disturb another person, unlawful use of a weapon, fourth-degree assault, and third-degree assault. 

Incidents

Sept. 30

8:00 a.m.: The Pettis County Children's Division contacted the Sedalia Police Department in reference to a possible sexual assault that occurred to a juvenile in the 2000 block of East Ninth Street. This case is still under investigation.

Oct. 11

2:49 a.m.: Officers responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of East 15th Street. No arrests were made.

8:45 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the police station lobby in reference to a theft report that occurred in the 1200 block of South Carr Avenue. Officers were told $1,000 worth of white PVC fencing was stolen from the backyard between Sept. 27 and Oct. 10.

11:01 a.m.: A report was filed at the police station lobby of a vehicle damaged in the 500 block of East 13th Street. The complainant stated that overnight Saturday someone put scratches on the driver and passenger sides of her vehicle. The damage was estimated at $200. There are no suspects.

Incidents

Oct. 4

8:20 p.m.: Mason J. Heston, of Cole Camp, was issued a summons after the K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of South Limit Avenue. Mason was released with a summons for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. 

Oct. 8

10:17 p.m.: George R. Jodan was arrested after the K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. Highway 65 and Elm Hills Boulevard in Pettis County on a vehicle displaying the wrong Missouri license plates. He was arrested for driving with a revoked/suspended license and possession of a controlled substance.

Arrests

Oct. 11

10:15 p.m.: Jose F. Perez, 32, of Versailles, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated with a person less than 17-years-old in the vehicle, felony operating a motor vehicle on a highway without a valid license - third or subsequent offense, leaving the scene of an accident, and two misdemeanor Moniteau County warrants for failure to appear for driving while intoxicated and a moving violation. Perez was transported to the Moniteau County Jail and offered no bond.
