This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 24

3:39 p.m.: Robert Maurice Williams, 41, of the 900 block of Westwood Drive, was arrested after an officer responded to a domestic disturbance. Investigation determined the disturbance was physical and a primary aggressor was determined. Williams was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of second-degree domestic assault. 

Oct. 25

10:22 p.m.: Daniel Sheremeta, 18, of Sedalia, and Alexander Nikolayevich Zaytsev, 19, of the 1000 block of Thompson Boulevard, were arrested after officers responded to the 2400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a traffic complaint. Officers located three suspects who were intoxicated and in possession of alcohol by consumption. All three were arrested, taken to the Sedalia Police Department, processed, and released for driving while intoxicated - drugs and minor in possession of alcohol. 

Oct. 26

12:32 a.m.: Savannah Grace Derstein, 23, of the 600 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop at East 32nd Street and South Ohio Avenue for speeding. It was determined Derstein was intoxicated by drugs and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released for driving while intoxicated - drugs.

Incidents

Oct. 20

6:55 a.m.: An officer responded to the 900 block of East Third Street to investigate a reported destruction of property. The complainant reported someone drove through a locked gate into the property. Video evidence showed a vehicle drove through the gate and a short time later left. Also, the gate was damaged; it did not appear any other damage was caused. There is no suspect at this time. 

Oct. 24

2:08 p.m.: Officers were notified of a hit-and-run crash that occurred on South Limit Avenue and West 16th Street. They were informed a silver 2013 Honda Accord was sideswiped by a utility truck. No injuries were reported.

10:48 p.m.: An officer took a report in the Sedalia Police Department lobby regarding a hit-and-run accident. The reporting party said the car was struck while in the parking lot in the 2700 block of West Broadway Boulevard. No suspect vehicle description was given. 

Oct. 25

8:56 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Fourth Street in reference to a property damage report. The reporting party stated a guest at his neighbor's house backed into his air conditioning unit and left. There are no known suspects.
