This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept. 17

12:10 a.m.: Jerome James Diekmann, 31, of the 2600 block of East 16th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle observed failing to maintain a lane or signal. The driver had a revoked driver's license and had to be removed from the vehicle to be arrested. He was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, then the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of driving while intoxicated alcohol – prior offender, driving with a suspended license, and resisting arrest. 

2:07 a.m.: Jose Fiscal-Ovil, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of West 16th Street in reference to a possible home invasion. Officers searched the residence and located a male subject sleeping inside of the bedrooms. He was awakened, arrested and booked with charges of second-degree trespassing and stealing.

9:59 p.m.: Jose Fiscal-Ovil, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of West 16th Street in reference to an unwanted person at a residence. Officers attempted to communicate with him but were unsuccessful and after multiple attempts to get the suspect to leave with no success, he was arrested and transported to the police department, fingerprinted, issued a citation for trespassing and released. 

10: 34 p.m.: Dimitri Vladimirovic Gudoshnikov, 35, of the 1200 block of Liberty Park Boulevard, was arrested after a traffic stop for traveling 64 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver was intoxicated and transported to the police department for booking and was released to a sober person with charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding 26 to 30 mph over the speed limit, no proof of insurance, not driving carefully, and improper lane usage.

Sept. 18

11 a.m.: Dillon James Palmer, 28, of Knob Noster, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Park Avenue in reference to the violation of an ex parte order and property damage. Palmer was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour pending formal charges of violation of an ex parte order-repeat offense and property damage. 

12:42 a.m.: Miguel Angel Lemus Arroyo, 23, of La Monte, was arrested after a traffic stop at East Broadway Boulevard and South Lamine Avenue for not displaying a front registration plate and excessively dark window tint. It was determined the driver was intoxicated and he was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, issued a uniform traffic ticket for driving while intoxicated, and released to a sober driver. 

3:30 a.m.: John Edward Franken, 42, of Green Ridge, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop at 16th Street and Ohio Avenue for a moving traffic violation. The driver was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released. 

Sept. 19

1:34 a.m.: Carrie Lynn Wilcox, 45, of Clinton, was arrested after a truck was stopped in the area of East Fourth Street and South Brown Avenue for no front plate, driving on the wrong side of the road, and improperly parking a vehicle. The driver was arrested on state charges of driving while revoked and was taken to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released. 

1:49 a.m.: Efren Suarez Hernandez, 23, of the 800 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop at West Ninth Street and South Quincy Avenue for failing to maintain a lane. The driver was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released with a charge of driving while intoxicated. 

Incidents

Sept. 4

2:55 p.m.: An officer met a female victim in the 700 block of North Quincy Avenue who said she'd been assaulted by her a man known to her. She showed no signs of injury and a witness never submitted a written statement. No charges were submitted. 

Sept. 13

3:57 p.m.: Officers responded to the 300 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to juveniles fighting. Officers had submitted juvenile referrals on the parties involved. 

Sept. 14

3 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the area of a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to an assault. A victim reported that a male subject spit on her in the area of Fourth Street and Marvin Avenue. The suspect left the area prior to the officer's arrival. The victim wants to press charges.

Sept. 16

9:04 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 2800 block of West Broadway Boulevard to investigate a reported stolen firearm. The firearm was verified as having been stolen out of Overland Park in 1998. It was placed on a hold and the original reporting agency has been contacted. 

10:36 a.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of East Seventh Street in reference to a theft. The officer spoke with the reporting party, who said overnight, plates were stolen from his truck. The suspect is currently unknown.

11:59 a.m.: An officer on patrol made contact with two subjects panhandling using signs with a sick child on them as a ruse to get money. After checking the subject for warrants, they were warned and returned to Kansas City.

10:48 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the Olsen West Apartment Complex, in the 3200 block of West 10th Street, regarding a stolen vehicle. Officers gathered information and generated a report. 

Sept. 18

7:40 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the intersection of South Marvin Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard for a hit-and-run accident that had occurred. Officers gathered information and a report was generated.

Arrests

Sept. 17

 2:13 p.m.: Terez Lewis, of Sedalia, was arrested after deputies conducted a vehicle stop at West Third Street and South Beacon Avenue for expired plates. He was booked and released for driving with a suspended driver's license and failure to register a motor vehicle.

Sept. 16

6:25 p.m.: Terry L. Lisenby, 57, of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated – persistent offender. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and released. 

Sept. 18

2:09 a.m.: Joseph G. Leggio, 18, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released. 

Sept. 19

9:33 p.m.: Tammy L. Clark, 48, of Sedalia, was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated, driving the wrong direction on the highway, and no valid driver's license. She was transported to the Benton County Jail and released.
