This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 29

11:26 p.m.: Sophina Diney, 32, of Ausville, Oregon, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of East 16th Street for a disturbance. The victim was eventually located at West McDonald's and the suspect was located in the 1500 block of East 24th Street. Diney was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of third-degree domestic assault. 

Sept. 1

2:20 p.m.: Angel Dawn Reyes, 41, of the 700 block of East Fifth Street, was arrested after officers responded to the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard for theft. The complainant reported that one of her employees had been stealing money from the store. Reyes was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of stealing.

3:01 p.m.: Rodney Douglas Bellew, 42, of the 500 block of West Third Street, was arrested after officers responded to the emergency room at Bothwell Regional Health Center in reference to an assault that occurred in the 500 block of West Third Street. Contact was made with a female subject who reported a male subject assaulted her. Bellew was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of third-degree domestic assault. 

Sept. 2

5:40 a.m.: Alicia Marie Sims, 31, of the 200 block of South Stewart Avenue, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Fourth Street and South Grand Avenue for an equipment violation. She gave a false name and when identified, was found to have a revoked driver's license. Sims was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released pending charges of driving with a suspended driver's license and identity theft.

12:23 p.m.: Morgan Taylor Foote, 23, of the 700 block of West Fourth Street, was arrested after officers noticed a vehicle with an expired license plate on U.S. Highway 65 at 16th Street. Officers confirmed the plate was expired and a traffic stop was conducted. It was discovered the driver had a suspended driver's license and he was arrested, taken to the SPD for fingerprinting, and released with a summons for driving without a license. 

1:15 p.m.: Cynthia S. Gibson, 63, of the 200 block of South Prospect Avenue, was issued a summons after officers responded to the area of North Ohio Avenue and West Morgan Street for an animal bite. The victim had an injury from the bite but refused medical transportation. The victim wished to pursue charges. The suspect was issued a City summons for animal biting. The dog was returned to the owner's home.

9:23 p.m.: Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at Main Street and South Limit Avenue for disobeying a stop sign. The juvenile driver and passenger were found in possession of marijuana. Charges are being requested through the juvenile office. 

Incidents

Sept. 2

8:42 a.m.: An officer took a report of theft from a vehicle in the 2500 block of Southwest Boulevard. A firearm was stolen valued at $500.

8:59 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of West Fourth Street in reference to found property. A black and red Kent brand bicycle has been placed into SPD storage for safekeeping until an owner can be identified. 

11:29 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of Albright Court in reference to property damage. The victim stated someone keyed the driver’s side of their vehicle causing estimated damage of $250.
