Mr. and Mrs. Jay Fajen will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with friends and family March 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church, where they are members.
Jay and Darlyne Fajen were married March 8, 1958, at United Lutheran Church in Cole Camp.
Jay retired in 1996 from a career of teaching instrumental and vocal music in Scandia, Kansas, Russellville, and Cole Camp, Missouri and high school principal and guidance counselor in the Cole Camp school system.
Prior to their marriage, Darlyne served as deputy Benton County clerk in the office of A.V. Call, and after the couple’s marriage was employed by Leon Stelling as his legal secretary, retiring in 2013.
The couple have two children, Randy Fajen (Susan), of Mission, Kansas, and Jaylene Weigel (Ron), of Shawnee, Kansas; and four grandchildren.
