This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 22

12:36 p.m.: Tyler J. Hill, 26, of the 5900 block of Mimosa Drive, was arrested after an officer performed a subject check near West Main Street and South Park Avenue. While in the area, the officer observed the subject driving, parking his vehicle, and attempting to leave the area on foot. A computer check revealed Hill had a revoked driver's license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for driving with a revoked license.

March 23

2:34 p.m.: Allen E. Bechtel, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. Bechtel was accused of stealing the tip jar and running from the business on foot. Officers also responded to the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a stolen motor bicycle. The bicycle was later recovered and returned to the owner. Bechtel was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of stealing a motor vehicle and theft.

7:23 p.m.: Mark Timothy Prall Sr., 61, of Sedalia, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Robinson Court for a man hitting a gas meter on a central air unit with an ax. Prall was located walking down Saline Street with the ax and damage was discovered at the housing authority. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, placed on a 24-hour hold, and charged with first-degree property damage and second-degree tampering with a utility - second offense.

10:54 p.m.: Elliot Sheldon Kroeker, 27, of the 900 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop at a business in the 1600 block of South Limit Avenue for expired registration. Kroeker was intoxicated and was transported to the police department for processing. He was then released to a sober person with citations for driving while intoxicated and expired registration.

Incidents

March 22

10:41 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1600 block of West 20th Street in reference to harassment. The reporting party said she was getting harassed online through fake Facebook profiles. No suspects have been identified.

4:32 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2300 block of North Woodlawn Drive in reference to a stolen license plate. The plate has not been recovered and was entered as stolen. No suspects have been identified at this time.

8:06 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room, 601 E. 14th St., in reference to an assault that happened a few hours earlier. The victim wanted to pursue the matter and a charge of third-degree assault charges was requested.

Arrests

March 23

6:45 p.m.: While on patrol in the area of Highway B and Highway 127 in Pettis County, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a gray Nissan passenger car for not having plates displayed. Dispatch advised that the driver's Missouri driver's license was currently suspended. The vehicle was moved to a safe location and secured. The driver was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released.

March 23

5:44 p.m.: Darrin N. Stokes, 43, of Marshall, was arrested in Pettis County for felony possession of a controlled substance - two counts, felony distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, leaving the scene of a crash, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

March 24

1:55 a.m.: Edward L. Headley, 39, of Leeton, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
